Yahoo Toolbar with AntiSpy 6.2, spyware detection and removal tool integrated web browser
Yahoo! Anti-Spy is a spyware detection and deletion tool integrated into general Yahoo! Toolbar for Internet Explorer and Firefox web browsers. The code is based on the same spyware definition record worn in reliable eTrust PestPatrol anti-spyware. However, Yahoo! Anti-Spy is a totally legitimate application and cannot be called a clone. Its vendor Yahoo! is a PestPatrol formal partner.
The code examines the Windows registry, operation processes, cookies, records and folders. The client is not allowable to execute configurable scans. Yahoo! Anti-Spy checks only regular sponger locations for known threats. This is why complete usage check performed on our check computers did not take more than one moment. The code doesn’t thoroughly explore subject of each record and relies only on its spyware definitions record, which is efficient on a normal core. Such detection system has a lot of disadvantages and may be fully ineffective against the most current pests.
